Illustrated throughout with 11 illustrations by world-renowned artist John Holder. Illustrated endpapers. The book is printed on Caxton Wove paper. A very fine book free from internal inscriptions, bound in dark green cloth blocked with a design by the artist. Page tops stained dark green. Roger Lancelyn Green (1918-1987), an Oxford academic who formed part of the literary discussion group along with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, was a British biographer and children’s writer. Green became known primarily for his writings for children, and particularly for his retellings of Robin Hood and other early tales. The book has 222 pages.
