The Macallan Edition No. 6 The Macallan Edition No. 6 is a limited edition single malt whiskey from The Macallan distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland, marking the finale of the Edition series. This non-seasoned (NAS) whiskey with a strength of 48.6% ABV and a capacity of 700 ml was aged in five types of barrels of seasoned American and European oak sherry, including hogsheads and butts from various cooperatives. This edition was inspired by the Spey River and the Macallan estate, which emphasises the natural beauty of the region, and the collaboration with the Atlantic Salmon Trust adds an ecological dimension. Flavour profile The nose is dominated by notes of caramelised dates, latte with cinnamon and nutmeg, with accents of cedar, toffee apples, plums, peaches in syrup, orchard flowers, oak and vanilla. On the palate, the whiskey offers medium fulness, with vanilla fudge, toffee apples, ripe plums, sun-dried oranges, milk chocolate, oak notes and delicate wood spices such as cinnamon and ginger, without hot alcohol. The finish is medium long, rich in fruit, fudge and warm spices, with drying notes of nutmeg, leafy accents and cocoa, leaving the impression of caramelised nuts and fruit.
