Here we have the Seiko King Quartz, Model 4823 that was officially introduced in 1975. This is a JDM model, hence the date is in English and Kanji, cool! For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko King Quartz 4823-8700 JDM in stunning condition. This is a highly sort-after Collectible timepiece. This timepiece was given an overhaul, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up, demagnetised, and its battery replaced on 9 November 2025. The crown has been uncorked to prevent battery drainage. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change, thereby providing the owner peace of mind. This bold silver case was also given a good clean-up and rub while maintaining its sharp lines and sexy curves. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape. The crystal is original and was given a good rub as well. The crown is located at its traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The case width and height are approximately 36mm (without crown) and 40mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women. A Seiko signed SS bracelet is included as part of the deal. The bracelet was thoroughly cleaned via ultrasonic immersion and was given a good rub afterwards; and all links were tightened for better lifespan albeit age marks and miniscule scratches do remain. To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in near mint condition. Even though the seals and gaskets are present / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age. The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead. Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
