Description: Founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, Wiese & Krohn built its reputation exporting Port wine to Scandinavian markets and Germany. The company — now known simply as Krohn — is currently managed by the third generation of the family of Edmundo Falcão Carneiro, who oversaw the firm’s export operations from 1910 onwards. This 1957 Colheita was bottled in 1976. The label shows slight wear only. It presents a deep amber colour. On the nose, it reveals elegant notes of dried fruits, dates, apricots, caramel and spices. On the palate, it offers good body, flavours of ripe fruit and a long, spicy finish.
