古董 彩色玻璃窗 - 1900-1910, 1940-1950 - 穿着古典服饰的女士

Fire-Painted Portrait Roundel – The Netherlands, ca. 1830 – No Reserve – in excellent condition A rare and beautifully preserved 19th-century fire-painted stained-glass portrait roundel, crafted in the Netherlands around the 1830s. This finely executed portrait depicts a lady in classical attire, rendered with remarkable realism using the traditional fire-painting technique, in which glass enamels are hand-applied and kiln-fired to permanently fuse the pigment into the glass. The subtle shading of the face, delicate lace details of the dress, and the finely modelled medallion pendant all demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship typical of early-19th-century Dutch ecclesiastical and portrait glasswork. The composition is framed by a circular border of pink and violet glass with hand-painted ornamentation, leaded and mounted for suspension. When backlit, it produces a warm, luminous effect that accentuates the painterly qualities of the piece. Such portrait roundels were often commissioned memorials or domestic devotional artworks, distinct from church windows yet created by the same master glass painters. About the technique: The fire-painting process involves the use of finely ground metallic oxides mixed with a medium, carefully brushed onto the glass surface and then fired in a kiln at high temperatures. Each layer of pigment is permanently fused to the glass during firing, creating subtle tonal transitions and lifelike detail. The soft golden hue visible in certain areas may have been achieved using silver stain, a hallmark of refined 19th-century Dutch and German stained-glass artistry. Dimensions: approx. 25 cm diameter Origin: The Netherlands Period: circa 1830 Technique: Fire-painted and kiln-fused glass, lead came Condition: In excellent condition, with minimal age-related wear and no cracks or restorations visible. Ready to hang. A museum-quality piece of early-19th-century Dutch stained-glass artistry — both decorative and historically significant.
