The Imperial Coronation Easter Egg in green gold was cast in pewter, heavily gold plated in 22k gold and enameled in shiny translucent emerald green enamel. Underneath the enamel was an engraved guilloche star pattern. The egg was surrounded by a lattice of gold laurel leaves and set with blue sapphire crystals and four petaled gold flowers with diamond effect crystals. The top of the egg had been stamped with a Russian-style royal crown and finished with a circle of sapphire crystals. The size of the egg was 100mm high and 64mm in diameter. The "surprise" inside the egg was a replica of the Russian Imperial Coronation State Coach. This faithfully reproduced miniature was heavily gold plated in 22k gold and lacquered. The roof of the car was encrusted with diamond effect crystals and the side doors had been finished with sapphire crystals. The beautiful Coach was fixed to the central plinth of the Egg. This exclusive Easter Egg comes complete with a luxury gold plated solid brass display stand as shown and a satin lined display box including Certificate of Authenticity / Information Card. In the 1983 film Octopussy, the Imperial Coronation Egg is one of the many priceless Russian Imperial treasures provided to Kamal Khan by the rogue Soviet General Orlov. The treasures have been replaced with forged replicas as Khan smuggles the true versions to the West via the Octopussy Circus Troupe and sells them at auction. The smuggling scheme is halted and comes to the attention of MI6, when Undercover British Agent 009 discovers and steals Fabergé's fake egg from the circus while performing in East Berlin. Although fatally injured, he manages to deliver the egg to the British Ambassador to West Berlin. With the replica of the egg now missing, Orlov contacts Khan in a desperate attempt to retrieve the original egg from the auction at Sotheby's in London before it can be sold. Meanwhile, 007 is also auctioned off by MI6 in an attempt to track down the seller. Suspicious of Khan's interest in the egg, he impromptuously bid - drastically increasing the price of the item to determine how desperately the villain wants it. Examining the object, Bond secretly exchanges the priceless original for the fake taken by 009. He follows Khan to India, where he makes it clear to the villain that he has the egg. Bond allows Khan's associate, Magda, to have another fake Faberge egg (made by the British government that Kamal believes to be the real one) fitted with listening and tracking devices by Q. After being captured, Bond escapes from his bedroom and he listens to the insect in Faberge's egg and discovers that Khan is working with Orlov, who seeks to extend Soviet control to central and western Europe. Orlov, enraged at the problems caused by the counterfeiting, accidentally smashes the original egg with the butt of his pistol, assuming it is the fake.
