A very RARE and beautiful edition of Charles Kingsley's "The Water Babies"....part of the Golden Treasure Library series. Volume is undated but probably 1920s-30s. In publisher's original green cloth binding with title in gold to spine and Mabel Lucie Attwell's colour plate 'Tom was so lonely' to front cover. This edition includes 6 colour plate inserts in very good condition plus many in-text black and white illustrations. Externally light wear around edges and corners, shelfwear, light stains on boards. Inside light stains but overall clean and complete. One page with a tear repaired with blank tape. Scarce.
