Een unieke Leica M240, a true one of a kind! Deze body werd in december 2014 door dhr. Alfred Schopf, CEO en voorzitter Raad van Bestuur Leica Camera Wetzlar, ter beschikking gesteld aan een Nederlandse fotograaf en fervent Leica gebruiker voor zijn ‘Hindenburgline Project’. Een opmerkelijk fotoproject waarbij de fotograaf landschappen fotografeerde langs de loopgraven uit de 1ste Wereldoorlog; van de kust van België, door Noord-Frankrijk, de Elzas en Vogezen naar de Zwitserse grens. Leica onderschreef het belang van het project door deze camera ter beschikking te stellen. De landschappen werden opgenomen in een boek en reizende tentoonstelling en was onder meer te zien bij het De Pont Museum in Tilburg (NL) en de Leica Gallery in Salzburg (A). Speciaal voor de gelegenheid zette Leica Customer Service het ‘Hindenburgline Project logo’ met laser op de camera. Zoals deze bestaat geen tweede! Het logo werd ‘zwart op zwart’ gezet. Het is door de reflectie van licht en door onder een bepaalde hoek te kijken dat het meer of minder zichtbaar is. Leica omschreef dit als vergelijkbaar met een ‘stealth-edition M.’ De camera is in zeer goede conditie, nauwelijks van nieuw te onderscheiden. Er zijn twee zeer miniscule ‘chips’ zwarte lak van het meetvenstertje aan de voorzijde. (zie foto) Het serienummer werd op de foto’s onleesbaar gemaakt, vanzelfsprekend niet op de camera. De oorspronkelijke bovenkap werd om het logo te plaatsen vervangen. Deze bovenkap wordt in een aparte Catawiki veiling aangeboden. De camera komt met origineel toebehoren: 2 accu’s, acculader en draagriem + bovenkap ------------- A unique Leica M240, a true one-of-a-kind! This body was provided in December 2014 by Mr. Alfred Schopf, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Leica Camera Wetzlar, to a Dutch photographer and avid Leica user for his "Hindenburgline Project." This remarkable photo project saw the photographer capture landscapes along the trenches of World War I, from the Belgian coast, through northern France, Alsace, and the Vosges Mountains to the Swiss border. Leica recognized the importance of the project by providing this camera. The landscapes were included in a book and traveling exhibition, exhibited at venues including the De Pont Museum in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and the Leica Gallery in Salzburg, Austria. Specially for the occasion, Leica Customer Service applied the "Hindenburgline Project" logo to the camera with a laser. There's no other one like it! The logo was applied "black on black." It's more or less visible due to light reflection and viewing angles. Leica described this as comparable to a "stealth-edition M." The camera is in excellent condition, barely distinguishable from new. There are two very tiny chips in the black paint on the front measuring window (see photo). The serial number was obscured in the photos, but obviously not on the camera itself. The original top cover was replaced to accommodate the logo. This top cover is also on sale at Catawiki. The camera comes with original accessories: two batteries, a battery charger, and a carrying strap, plus a top cover.
