有趣的巨大真正的部分脱节的Keichousaurus hui骨架,早三叠世海洋 - 骨骼化石

Scientific name: Keichousaurus hui, Young 1958 (marine reptile Pachypleurosauridae family) Location: Guanglin, Guizhou Province of China Geological Formation: Falang - Huxia Formation Age: Early Triassic (~242 million years ago) Size: 17,5 cm long the specimen - 14 x 14,5cm x 0,5cm the matrix Ref: S287 Observations: Here we present an interesting large Keichousaurus specimen. This specimen is quite interesting because its skeleton is partially disarticulated. This indicates, taphonomically, that the animal died, began to decompose and disarticulate before its burial and final fossilization. Its preservation its nice. It is very common to find many fake or heavily restored Keichousaurus specimens on the market. However, this specimen is relatively good. The preservation of the bones is nice, and the level of detail is outstanding, mainly at the tiny hand and leg bones (the fingers with their carpals, tarsals and phalanges), vertebrae neck, skull and scapular and pelvic girdles. However, few bones as the right hand carpal bones have some restorations. It is a nice collector piece, far away from the typical bullshit. The specimen has been carefully prepared professionally using micro sandblasting. The restorations carried out consist primarily of gluing and filling fractures in the matrix. Those bones that were not as well preserved have been highlighted using a painting technique, mainly the ribs and dorsal vertebrae as well as some limb bones. The head (skull), neck, 3 of the 4 hands/legs, and a large portion of the neck and tail vertebrae are exceptionally well preserved. Most of the "restoration" has been performed on the matrix fractures. It is also very interesting to observe how the veins of natural calcite that run through the rock also run through the fossil, an indicator that the bones are all authentic, since the mineralization processes that the rock subsequently underwent along its natural fractures, mineralized everything, including the parts that ran through the skeleton. Keichousaurus hui is a small marine reptile from the Triassic of southern China. A member of the Pachypleurosauridae family, with a long neck, paddle-like limbs, and a slender tail, adapted for swimming in shallow marine environments. Fossils, often found in black shale, reveal a diet of small fish and invertebrates, inferred from its needle-like teeth. All our fossils come with Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our website database verification system. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box not included. If you want a display box, or metal display, please contact us and we will provide you with an additional extra cost for it. IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION: All shipments to the USA are sent via UPS Express. We are not responsible for any additional tariff charges that US Customs may add as import fees on the declared commercial value.
