However, if you require faster delivery, air shipping may be possible through a different carrier for an additional fee, so please contact us. 【Product details】 This Edo period wakizashi bears the signature of Chōshū-jū Kiyotsugu (attribution to be confirmed), a swordsmith active in the Chōshū domain during the late Edo period. The blade is housed in a plain wooden storage scabbard and comes with a protective cloth cover. The sword comes with a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, as the original document will be returned to the authorities. According to the certificate issued in Aichi Prefecture, registration number 28656, the sword is classified as a wakizashi with a blade length of 43.8 cm and a curvature of 0.9 cm. It has one peg hole and is signed on the front with the inscription 長州住清次 (Chōshū-jū Kiyotsugu). The certificate was issued on November 18, 1965 (Shōwa 40). There is one forging crack visible on the spine of the blade. Slight rust and some fingerprint marks remain on the blade surface and do not wipe away. The scabbard has one crack, along with some scuffs, dents, and areas of discolouration where the registration certificate had been affixed. The collar (habaki) shows patina. The cloth cover has some stains and fading. Please refer to the photos for further details. The display stand is not included.
