Rare and expressive Polychrome Carved Limewood Figure of the Young Christ, South German, 16th century. A beautifully carved figure depicting the young Christ standing with both arms open, originally belonging to a larger devotional ensemble. The sculpture shows finely carved facial features and flowing hair, with traces of its original polychrome paint still visible, enhancing its character and historical authenticity. Mounted on a later display base. Height: approx. 40 cm Provenance: From an important Belgian private collection. Condition: Good condition for its age with natural wear and losses to hands, expected losses to the polychrome surface consistent with age and devotional use.
