This beautiful, large betel box was produced in Bhutan. It is made of partially gilded silver with elaborate embossed work depicting an important Buddhist iconography: two dragons on either side of a double vajra (dorje) with a flaming pearl in the center. The box is rectangular in shape with a lid and rounded corners. It weighs 249 grams. Measures 13.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm. Period: early 1900s. Well preserved, with slight wear consistent with its age, it has a beautiful patina and gilding that is still well preserved. The box closes securely. The photos are part of the description.
