Original Russian Orthodox icon dating from the 19th century, depicting Saints Vlasij and Modest, protectors of livestock in Orthodox tradition. Above the saints is the Mandylion (Christ Not Made by Hands), a canonical iconographic element. The icon is executed in egg tempera on a wooden panel, with traditional gesso (levkas) ground and partial gilding. The panel retains its original structure and recessed field (kovcheg). Inscriptions are in Church Slavonic. This icon belongs to the Russian Orthodox cultural sphere and represents a provincial workshop tradition, typical for the period. The work is anonymous, as was customary for icons of this type. Condition The icon is offered in original, unrestored condition. It shows extensive age-related craquelure, areas of paint and ground loss, and visible traces of heat exposure, particularly in the lower part. The wooden panel remains stable. No modern restoration has been carried out. This piece is suitable for collectors of Russian icons, religious art, or for professional conservation projects.
