Lithograph on wove paper.
Signed on the plate lower left margin with Ernest Laurent's monogram.
L'Estampe Moderne's blind stamp on the bottom right corner.
Dimensions:
+Size of the sheet: 39 x 30,5 cm / 16,1 x 12 in.
Condition: In overall good condition with a minor stain lower right corner and soft handling creases at edges. Image very clean otherwise. Tipped-on paper. Unframed.
Published by Masson & Piazza, Paris.
Not unlike the Maitre de L'Affiche series, L'Estampe Moderne was a portfolio printed between 1897-98, published by Imprimerie Champenois, Paris, contained 24 monthly portfolios, with four original lithographs in each. Each was commissioned only for this series.
As well as Mucha, some of the contributing artists included Rhead, Meunier, Ibels, Steinlen, Willette and Grasset.
