Helmut Newton (1920-2004) was one of the most influential photographers of all time. In the 1970s he acquired international fame by mainly working for the French Vogue. He was renowned for his controversial scenarios, bold lighting and striking compositions in public or private settings, rather than in a Studio. He acquired many honorary titles and awards including Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
