Beskrivelse fra sælger
1. General Information
Artist: Bob Dylan
Album: Bob Dylan (Debut Album)
Label: Columbia
Catalog Number: CL 1779 (Mono)
Format: LP, Album, Promo, Mono
Country: USA
Released: 1962
2. Description
An ultra-rare, authentic 1962 US Promotional First Pressing of Bob Dylan's self-titled debut album. This copy features the highly sought-after red "Six-Eye" Columbia labels with "DEMONSTRATION RECORD NOT FOR SALE" silver overprint.
The front cover retains the original silver foil "A NEW STAR ON COLUMBIA RECORDS" hype sticker, a key feature for serious collectors. The back cover features a large, pink "DEMONSTRATION NOT FOR SALE" rubber stamp over the liner notes. This release dates from the very brief window when Dylan's debut overlapped with the final days of the Columbia 6-eye label design.
3. Condition
Cover: The sleeve shows signs of age typical for a 60-year-old unlaminated jacket. There is some corner wear and edge wear visible (see spine and corner photos). The back cover shows age-tanning/browning and the "4" print code in the bottom right corner. The "New Star" foil sticker is intact with some surface aging.
Vinyl: Visual Grading - Excellent (EX) to Near Mint (NM)
Labels: The "Six-Eye" promo labels are bright and distinct. The silver "DEMONSTRATION" text is clear. There are no writing marks or stickers on the labels themselves.
4. Notes for Collectors
"Six-Eye" Promo: Standard retail copies quickly switched to the "2-Eye" label. A 6-Eye Promo is the earliest and most desirable format.
1A Matrices: Both sides feature the -1A matrix ending, indicating this was pressed from the very first set of lacquers.
Print Code: The number "4" on the back cover (lower right) indicates fabrication by Imperial Paper Box Corp., consistent with early East Coast pressings.
5. Matrix / Runout
Side A (Etched/Stamped): XLP-55619-1A
Side B (Etched/Stamped): XLP-55620-1A
