Amazing Long Katana blade signed "Echizen ju Fujiwara Kanetaka" in beautiful Edo antique Koshirae. Beautiful and vivid hamon and nice Jihada (skin of the blade). Very rare and desirable find a blade with this quality polish in such good condition. Please pay attention at the fantastic polish and vivid hamon full of details. The blade belongs to the genius smith Echizen ju Fujiwara Kanetaka one of the most important smiths of one of the most important schools of the Muromachi period and edo. The Fujiwara Honorary, like the Kami or the Minamoto, was awarded only to the best craftsmen of the province. The blade is in very good overall condition. On one side it appears to have been cleaned of old rust and some surface marks remain which do not affect the blade at all. Fully sharpened and with a well visible hamon all over the blade, plus a beautiful koshirae of high level and great artistic and monetary value make this blade a great choice. The fuchi kashira in iron inlaid with gold-plated copper, the rare and magnificent tsuba in centuries old iron or the favourable saya in black lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay almost in priscine condition, make it a precious work of art. The blade is in old japanese polish remaining in good condition, the jihada of the steel is detailed and full of details to appreciate.
