Marvelous very rare porcelain sculpture of a “ Rhinoceros Beetle” displaying a great hence, on a rock with foliage beneath, made by Royal Dux Bohemia, prestigious Czech porcelain factory since 1860.
It is a highly eye catching porcelain sculpture, magnificent sculpted and glazed, painted in naturalistic colors.
The Rhinoceros Beetle is one of the largest beetles found in Europe. The elytra are reddish brown with a glazed appearance, while the head and pronotum are slightly darker. The underside of the body and the legs are covered with long red hair.

This iconic insect is a source of pride and cultural identity, intricately linked to Japanese tradition.
