Known for their philanthropic arena rock style,the band was highly valued by the audience for their fantastic live performances despite a relative lack of critical recognition. By 1971,Grand Funk hit the record attendance at the Beatles Shea Stadium,but sold out in just 72 hours,while the Beatles concert took a few weeks to sell out.
