ITEM: Japanese samurai armor (gusoku) dating to the late 19th century, composed of authentic period components, assembled into a functional and visually coherent suit, consistent with late Edo-period tastes and practices. The armor is headed by an iron suji-bachi kabuto, featuring clearly defined vertical ribs and a dark lacquered finish. It is fitted with a gilded metal tehen kanamono and a tiered shikoro, lacquered and laced with polychrome cords in mustard, grey, and blue-green tones. The fukigaeshi retain embroidered textile decoration. The torso is protected by a lamellar dō, made of black-lacquered plates laced with blue-green odoshi. The dō is connected to the kusazuri by original period cords; several of these cords show breakage or weakness, which is typical for armor of this age. These areas are effectively concealed by the belt, allowing for a stable and visually clean display. The sode are large and tiered, with matching lacing. The kote combine metal plates, chainmail (kusari), and brocade textile with vegetal motifs, providing both protection and decorative interest. Overall, this is a late 19th-century samurai armor, visually balanced and well suited for collection, display, or high-quality historical decoration. A samurai armor that will be the central focus of any room where it is placed and that will delight any fan of Japanese art. This exclusive piece is making it an incredible opportunity for any collector of Japanese, war or simply historical art to get their hands on a piece that will attract attention wherever it is displayed, from offices, to private homes, offices or restaurants and will give a regal look to any place. The armour has gilded details that show the quality of the piece. The incredible workmanship accentuates such ornate pieces as the kabuto, the mempo and the Do. The stand to assemble it and the box are included. This armour is sure to delight any collector of Asian art and will be the focal point of any visitor's home, shop or office. There is a very ancient object and there are damaged by time and tears. There is a possibility that parts may have been added later or that restoration occurred. Due to the delicacy of continuous assembly and disassembly, returns are not allowed on old armor.
