The vessel is richly detailed with cobalt blue underglaze accents, including classic floral sprays and delicate hand-painted insect motifs (a hallmark of fine Thuringian porcelain). The gondola "floats" upon a base of sculpted frothing waves, which is supported by four ornate Baroque dolphin-fish feet. The dynamic movement of the waves and the crispness of the dragon’s features highlight the exceptional craftsmanship of the Voigt brothers' era at Sitzendorf.
