Bing & Grøndahl: A Collection of Iconic Danish Porcelain Figurines In excellent condition.
Left: "Victor" (Boy Drinking)
This figurine depicts a young boy sitting on a small white stool, holding a cup to his mouth as if drinking milk. The boy, named Victor, is wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and blue shorts. The piece is known as model number 1713 and was designed by Ingeborg Plockross Irminger.
Center Back: "Girl Comforting Boy" or "Love Scorned"
This set features two figures standing close together. The girl, wearing a white dress with a blue floral pattern and a matching bonnet, is gently embracing or attempting to kiss the boy in blue shorts and a white shirt, who appears to be pulling away or looking down in refusal. This emotional interaction leads to its common names, such as "Girl Comforting Boy" or "Love Scorned". The model number for this pair is typically 1614 or sometimes 2182.
Center Front: "Goose"
Positioned on the floor between the children is a small, hand-painted porcelain goose figurine. The goose is captured in a feeding posture, with its head lowered. This is model number 1902, designed by Niels Nielsen.
Right: "Dickie" (Boy Squatting)
To the right, a young boy is captured in a squatting or crouching position, looking down intently. He is wearing a blue top with a white collar and blue shorts. This figure is known as Dickie, or "Boy squatting looking down," and has a model number of 1636.
