This amulet depicts Horus as a child, a central figure in the iconography of Ancient Egypt, associated with protection, regeneration and dynastic continuity. Made of limestone with traces of gold leaf that highlight specific details, it measures 4 cm high and 1.5 cm wide and deep. The representation shows Horus as a naked child, with his finger in his mouth, a traditional symbol of his youth, and a side lock of hair, a characteristic detail that identifies child figures in Egyptian art. The use of gold leaf, although partially worn, reflects the symbolic and ritual value of the piece, as gold was associated with immortality and divine power. In good condition, this amulet maintains much of its integrity, allowing the precision of the facial and body features to be appreciated, despite its small size. Dating from between the Third Intermediate Period (1076-723 BC) and the Late Period (722-332 BC), this piece would have had an apotropaic purpose, protecting the wearer from evil and ensuring his well-being. Child Horus amulets were especially popular with mothers and children, symbolising maternal protection and triumph over chaos, just as Horus defeated Seth in Egyptian myths.
