Antique gentleman’s walking cane with concealed mechanical watch, made in Switzerland in the early 20th century. The cane is fitted with an elegant silver-plated metal handle of baluster form, which opens on a hinge to reveal a hidden white enamel (ceramic) watch dial with Arabic numerals. The dial currently shows one hand; the second hand is no longer present, and there is a minor surface imperfection to the enamel, visible in the photos and consistent with age. The exterior of the handle is stamped “SILVER”, a period trade marking, while the interior is marked “MÉTAL ARGENTÉ” and “SWISS MADE”, confirming that the handle is silver-plated rather than solid silver. The construction is further marked “BREV. N° 107244”, referring to the patented mechanism. The watch is a Swiss manual-wind novelty movement typical of discreet gentleman’s accessories produced around 1900–1920. The silver-plated handle is mounted on a black wooden shaft, finished with a ferrule at the base. The watch is present; running condition has not been tested and a service is recommended due to age. The dial shows age-related wear. The handle shows surface wear, light dents and scratches consistent with use. The wooden shaft displays wear, scratches and an attractive aged patina, with wear also visible to the ferrule. A rare and appealing collector’s piece, suitable for collectors of antique walking canes, novelty watches and early 20th-century gentleman’s accessories. Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
