Ολλανδική σχολή (XVII) - Vertumno e Pomona - NO RESERVE

Esaminato alla lampada di Wood, si evidenziano restauri e vecchio rintelo, venduto senza cornice, misura 40x48cm Spedizione con corriere ed imballo professionale, non si spedisce al di fuori dell'Unione Europea English : NO RESERVE An elegant antique work of the Flemish school of high pictorial quality, the painting presents stylistic affinities with works by Willem van Mieris (1662-1747) and Caspar Netscher (1639-1684), depicting Vertumnus and Pomona. These subjects, drawn from classical mythology, were particularly dear to Northern European painting of the Baroque period, where Van Mieris was an interpreter alongside other artists such as Caspar Netscher, Van Goyen, Van Ostade, Rubens, Van Dyck, Teniers, etc. The scene shows two female figures in a pastoral-mythological setting: the goddess Pomona, a subject taken from Ovid's Metamorphoses, is recognizable by the iconography linked to nature and fruits, and is seated on a floral carpet while conversing with Vertumnus, god of the seasons. The composition is intimate and refined, with great attention to the drapery of the fabrics, the rendering of the faces, and the soft illumination, recalling the typical narrative elegance of Flemish painting and the tradition of the great Flemish masters The warm palette, the silky drapery, and the floral details contribute to creating a poetic and delicate atmosphere. The painting retains its charm and chromatic depth, with a normal patina of time. This is a perfect piece for collectors of 17th-century Flemish and Dutch painting, for connoisseurs of mythological subjects, and lovers of refined Baroque painting. Condition: Good, with small craquelures and signs of age compatible with the era. Examined under Wood's lamp, restorations and a old relining are visible. Sold without a frame, measures 40x48cm. Shipping: Via courier with professional packaging.
