Nice face 良いお顔 - 1997- Japanese Woodblock Print ED 22/160 The frame has been carefully stored in a dark place. Frame and mat are not included. As this is an old print, there are some stains due to aging. The stains are not very noticeable and are barely noticeable when framed. There is also a slight tear on the left edge from when it was framed, but this will also be hidden when framed. As this print is from the "ITAGA" series, it is attached to a slightly thick backing. Please see the photos for details of the condition. Here, Santōka captures a fleeting moment of calm: new leaves filtering soft light, and a stone Jizō whose expression feels kind, warm, and reassuring— as if nature itself were offering silent compassion. --------------------- ▼Akiyama Iwao ============ Born in Taketa, Oita Prefecture in 1921. Graduated from Pacific Art School in 1953. Studied under Munakata Shiko, Sakagami Hanjiro, and Fuse Teijiro. Self-taught in folklore, Buddhist studies, haiku poetry, ceramics, sculpture, and ink painting. Invited to exhibit at the CWAJ Contemporary Print Exhibition (sponsored by the U.S. Embassy) from 1966.
