From: Princess Mononoke (1997) This piece is an authentic original one-of-a-kind Japanese animation cel, hand-painted by studio artists at Studio Ghibli and used directly in the creation of the animated feature film Princess Mononoke. As an original production material, this artwork is unique, with no duplicates in existence. Created for internal studio use under the direction of Studio Ghibli during the original theatrical production period of Princess Mononoke in 1997. A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase. This original animation cel features multiple Kodama (Tree Spirits), the iconic forest spirits that symbolize the living soul of the forest in Princess Mononoke. Scenes featuring the Kodama are among the most memorable and visually poetic moments of the film, making production materials depicting them especially desirable to collectors of Studio Ghibli artwork. This item is presented interleaved with MicroChamber paper, an archival material used to protect artwork by reducing harmful acids and paint fumes which damage animation cels over time.
