A solid wooden Go-game table 碁盤 (goban) with a set of go-stones 碁石 (go-ishi). The broad top is made of solid wood, and has a beautiful continuous grain. Raised by four faceted baluster feet.
Complete with go-stones 碁石 (go-ishi) in lidded containers. The boxes are made of lacquered dark brown mulberry wood 桑 (kuwa). The white stones are carved from hamaguri 蛤 (clam shell), while the black stones are made from Nachiguroishi 那智黒石, a fine slate from Kumano in Mie Prefecture.
The table is in a very good condition with a few superficial traces of use. The go-stones have traces of usage, which is quite common. Stone boxes with traces of use. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
