Cruziana Trace Fossils on Sandstone Slab – Upper Ordovician This remarkable slab features well-preserved Cruziana trace fossils in Sabellarifex sandstone from the Upper Ordovician. Cruziana is an ichnofossil—meaning it records behavior rather than the organism itself. These trackways were produced by ancient marine arthropods, most commonly trilobites, as they moved across the seafloor, leaving behind direct evidence of their locomotion and interaction with the sediment.
