A beautiful first edition (!) Certina DS (ref. 5101 013) from 1959 or 1960.
With the legendary in-house manual movement Certina 25-36 - this mechanism was produced only in the first version of the DS; after a year - in 1960 - it was replaced by the cal. 25-66.
The DS line (“Double Security”) became famous for its superior shock absorption and reinforced case construction — symbolized by the turtle emblem on the back, representing durability and water resistance.
This timepiece features its original stainless steel case. The dial shows a natural aging patina, giving it a distinctive vintage charm without being overdone.

Considering the serial number - 5801 112 - and cal. the watch was made between 1959 an 1960.
Original plexiglass (may require replacement).
Original crown with Certina logo.
