Vintage: 1998, considered a challenging vintage due to the cooler and wetter climate than normal, which produced elegant and refined Bordeaux-style wines. Characteristics: The wine has complex aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, tobacco, smoke and violet, with spicy and cedar scents. On the palate it is elegant, of medium body, with refined tannins and well-balanced acidity, and a persistent finish. Aging potential: Although at the time it was recommended to drink it within the first 10-12 years, some recent reviews indicate that well-preserved bottles are reaching a very good point of maturity now, with great remaining life potential.
