Japy Freres Table Clock. At the Grand Prix de Horlogerie in 1878. A A patented French carriage clock, called Vainqueur (Winner). The four-leaf clover design has a beautiful top handle and thick faceted glass (beveled glass). This rare clock has a nickel-plated brass case. In the brass frame there is an oval window at the top with a handle, through which the fascinating action of the mechanism can be observed. The white dial of the clock displays Roman numerals and a second dial at the bottom. On the back of the clock are keys with the inscriptions "Grand Prix De L'Horlogerie 1878" and "Déposé Breveté". The maker's mark is on the back plate of the mechanism
