Λευκό πορσελάνινο βάζο με διακόσμηση από χαρτί βαμμένο ινδικό μπλε. - Πορσελάνη - 中村恵美子 Nakamura Emiko (1936-) - Ιαπωνία - Heisei period (1989-present)

Item Description: This exquisite flower vase is a refined work by 中村恵美子 Nakamura Emiko (1936-), a distinguished ceramic artist from the renowned Korean Seiroku Kiln. As the eldest daughter of the white porcelain master Nakamura Seiroku, she continues the exceptional legacy of her family's pottery tradition in Arita. The vase features a striking composition of pure white porcelain harmoniously combined with deep indigo decoration created through the washi-zome (Japanese paper dyeing) technique. The flowing linear patterns and dotted accents are applied using gosu (cobalt) pigment through Japanese paper, creating a softer, more organic aesthetic compared to traditional hand-painted sometsuke (underglaze blue). The elegant ovoid form with its gently narrowing neck demonstrates masterful wheel-throwing technique, while the crisp white porcelain body provides a luminous canvas for the serene blue decoration. Nakamura Emiko's work is celebrated for combining the refinement and grace of traditional Arita white porcelain with the gentle, feminine sensibility evident in her paper-dyeing technique. Her pieces have been selected for numerous prestigious exhibitions, including multiple selections for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and awards at the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Ceramic Exhibition. This piece comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako), confirming its authenticity and provenance. The vase is in excellent condition, making it a sophisticated addition to any collection of contemporary Japanese ceramics or as an elegant vessel for flower arrangement. Size Height: 21 cm Width: 14 cm Depth: 14 cm Weight: 710 g Condition Excellent condition with no damage. The piece retains its original beauty and refined surface quality.
