The elegant gourd-shaped body and applied spout form are characteristic of traditional kendi used in Southeast Asia and China. The relief decoration shows stylised fish swimming among waves and aquatic plants, symbolising abundance and prosperity in Chinese culture. The glaze shows beautiful variations in tone, pooling in the recesses of the relief decoration.
