Antique Marklin toy cannon field gun type with removable breech. The field cannon was made between 1915 and 1929. Pictures of this model can be found in the Marklin cannon reference book Militarspielzeug aus Blech 1895-1939 by Dr. Ing Otto Hollerer, on page 133.
The cannon was made for the domestic German market it was painted green, and for export they were painted blue. This cannon is hand painted in the green color with black details.

The cannon is complete with brass barrel, spoked wheels and functioning in all areas. I has a firing mechanism, elevation screw, removable breech and trailer hitch which is working. The cannon has steel wire underneath which is attached to the elevation screw and allows the cannon to be raised.

All original and marked on the top of the barrel with Märklins trademark at that time; The Company of Gebruder Märklin and Cie (Märklin Brothers).

This cannon was also produced with a shield, but this variation is original without a shield
Since there are no holes for mounting the shield on the side of the cannon.
