Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Elegant and dynamic Art Deco dancer by Max Le Verrier (1891–1973), one of the best-known French sculptors associated with the Art Deco movement. Le Verrier’s work is appreciated for its bold silhouettes, athletic grace and strong sense of motion, often inspired by the interwar fascination with dance, sport and modernity.
This sculpture titled “Danseuse” captures a striking pose with outstretched arms and a flowing, cape-like drapery effect, creating a powerful sense of speed and balance. The piece is executed in bronze with a green patina, mounted on a black veined marble base, a classic presentation for decorative bronzes of the period.
Signed “Le Verrier” on the base. Circa 1930'. Very good condition, with minor surface wear consistent with age. Marble base with natural veining. Height: 17 cm.
A highly decorative, collectible sculpture—perfect for an Art Deco interior, a curated bronze display, or as a statement object on a desk or console.
Max Le Verrier was a French sculptor and designer active mainly in the first half of the 20th century, celebrated for Art Deco bronzes and decorative objects. His signature style combines stylisation, clean lines and movement, emblematic of the Art Deco aesthetic that flourished in Paris during the 1920s–1930s.
