Zebu cattle were domesticated in the Indus region and spread across neighbouring areas through trade networks during the Bronze Age, becoming an essential animal for agriculture, transport, and economic life. Because of its importance, the zebu frequently appears in ancient figurines, seals, and ritual objects, where it likely symbolised strength, prosperity, and fertility.
