Shino-ware βάζο λουλουδιών από τον 安藤日出武 Ando Hidetake (1938-) - Κεραμικό - 安藤日出武 Ando Hidetake (1938-) - Ιαπωνία - 1900–2000

This is a Shino-ware flower vase by Ando Hidetake, a celebrated Mino ware master potter from Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, and a designated Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture. The vase features a distinctive square-tubular form with softly rounded shoulders, hand-built using traditional anagama (wood-fired kiln) techniques. The surface is richly textured with the characteristic milky-white feldspar glaze of Shino ware, interspersed with warm amber and deep iron-brown hi-iro (fire-color) markings — the natural result of the wood-firing process. Closeup details reveal the signature pin-hole pitting (koge) across the glaze surface, a hallmark of authentic Shino craftsmanship. A subtle horizontal ridge around the neck gives the form an elegant structural accent. The base shows three small feet-like protrusions (kōdai), and the base glaze displays particularly dramatic interplay of charred earth tones and pooled white glaze — each a completely unrepeatable expression of fire and clay. Accompanied by the original wooden storage box (tomobako) signed by the artist. Condition In good condition with no notable chips, cracks, or repairs; minor surface variations in glaze and fire markings are inherent to the anagama wood-firing process and considered part of the piece's natural beauty. Artist Profile Ando Hidetake (b. 1938, Gifu Prefecture) is a third-generation master potter based at Sentaro-gama kiln in Ichinokura, Tajimi City. Inspired by legendary ceramicist Kato Tokuro to pursue the Momoyama-era Mino tradition, Ando dedicated his career to reviving the authentic anagama (wood-fired tunnel kiln) techniques of Shino, Oribe, and Kiseto wares. He was designated a Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture (Kiseto) in 2003, and has received numerous prestigious awards including the Gifushinbun Grand Prize for Culture (2002), the Kōhei Prize (1990), and the Governor's Prize at the Asahi Ceramics Exhibition (1970). His works have been exhibited at EXPO 70 and featured in NHK broadcast documentaries. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone.
