Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή
Teredo petrified wood is very unique because there are "worm" holes into the original wood. Those holes are made by the prehistoric Teredo (Teredolites longissimus)--a worm-shaped marine mollusk. This petrified wood comes out of the London Clay Formation and is Eocene in age. The teredo burrows have been lined with calcite, giving the petrified wood a very interesting and uncommon look.
The particularities of palm trunc are equaly very visible.
The slab is extra rare and very decorative, and has a size of 28.5 x 20 cm. It shows nice and uncommon colors.
The stand will come for free.
Please note two sides have been polished.
Name : Palm wood with Teredolites longissimus
Age: Eocene, London clay formation
Find spot : Isle of Sheppey, Kent, England
ATTENTION: colors may slightly vary onto the pictures (due to pictures taken into photo box) .
