The body is painted in underglaze cobalt blue on a white ground. The decoration is arranged in horizontal registers, with a key-fret band along the rim, a floral band at the shoulder, and a geometric border near the foot. The central scene shows two dynamic qilin rendered in expressive brushwork, surrounded by cloud motifs symbolizing auspiciousness and prosperity in Chinese culture. The energetic painting and deep cobalt tones create a striking visual contrast against the white porcelain body. The jar stands on a slightly recessed foot with an unglazed foot rim showing natural kiln marks typical of traditional firing methods.
