Beautiful antique dessert / cake serving set by Johnson Bros, England, in the famous Old Britain Castles pattern. The set is made of ironstone with brown transferware decoration and depicts the historic scene “Windsor Castle in 1792.” This classic design was inspired by old English engravings and became one of the most popular patterns produced by Johnson Bros. According to the backstamp and style of decoration, the set was produced approximately between the 1930s and 1950s, making it around 70–90 years old. Set consists of 9 pieces: 1 large serving plate – approx. 31 cm 8 dessert plates – approx. 16 cm Very good antique condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. The large plate shows light age-related crazing in the glaze, which is common for antique ironstone and does not affect stability. The dessert plates are in excellent condition. aze.
