Iconic “Diamond” pendant lamp designed by Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner for the German lighting manufacturer ERCO, dating from the 1960s–1970s. The lamp features the characteristic faceted diamond-pattern acrylic diffuser which beautifully refracts light and creates a distinctive geometric light pattern when illuminated. This model is considered a classic example of mid-century / space-age lighting design. Although this particular piece does not carry a visible maker’s mark, the design corresponds precisely to the documented ERCO “Diamond” model shown in period catalogues and widely attributed to Aloys F. Gangkofner.
