Item Description:
広垣彩子 Ayako Hirogaki (1984-)
"Ribbon" — Glass Rod / Mixed Media Object Year of Creation: 2019
This mesmerizing glass art object "Ribbon" was created in 2019 by Ayako Hirogaki, one of Japan's most celebrated contemporary glass artists.
The work is characterized by its distinctive use of densely clustered slender glass rods, which blur the boundary between object and surrounding space, creating an almost otherworldly visual experience.
The clustering of fine glass rods forms a rhythmic, ribbon-like structure that seems to flow and undulate, inviting the viewer to explore it from multiple angles.
Each viewpoint reveals a new interplay of light, shadow, and transparency — a hallmark of Hirogaki's artistic vision.
The piece comes in its original box (paper case, with some age-related wear).
This work represents a rare opportunity to acquire a piece by an internationally acclaimed Japanese glass artist who continues to push the boundaries of contemporary glass art.
