Nihon no Bijutsu Αριθμοί 150, 151, 152, 154, 155 — 5 τεύχη του κορυφαίου ιαπωνικού περιοδικού τέχνης - Χαρτί - Ιαπωνία - 1900–2000

Item Description This is a complete set of 5 issues from Nihon no Bijutsu (Arts of Japan), one of Japan's most prestigious scholarly art journal series, published by Shibundō and supervised by the Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunkacho) in collaboration with the Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara National Museums. All five issues were published in 1978–1979 (Shōwa 53–54), covering consecutive numbers in the series (No. 150, 151, 152, 154, 155), each dedicated to a major theme in Japanese art history. The five issues and their themes are as follows: No. 150 – Kan'ei no Sanpitsu (寛永の三筆) (November 1978): Dedicated to the "Three Great Calligraphers of the Kan'ei Era," featuring masterworks of classical Japanese calligraphy from the early Edo period. Edited by Zezawa Kyōzō. No. 151 – Niō-zō (二王像) (December 1978): A comprehensive study of Niō guardian deity sculptures found at temple gates across Japan, showcasing masterpieces of Japanese Buddhist sculpture. Edited by Kurata Bunsaku. No. 152 – Tokonoma to Yukakari (床の間と床飾り) (January 1979): An in-depth exploration of the tokonoma alcove and its decorative traditions in Japanese interior architecture and culture. Edited by Okada Yuzuru. No. 154 – Kenzan (乾山) (March 1979): A focused study on the celebrated Edo-period ceramic master Ogata Kenzan, featuring his distinctive painted pottery. Edited by Kawahara Masahiko. No. 155 – Shintō (新刀) (April 1979): An authoritative reference on shintō (new swords) — Japanese swords forged from the late Muromachi through early Edo periods — with detailed photography and scholarship. Edited by Ogasawara Nobuo. Each issue contains high-quality colour and monochrome plates alongside scholarly essays, making this set an invaluable reference for collectors and researchers of Japanese art, Buddhism, ceramics, calligraphy, and swordsmanship. Published by Shibundō (至文堂), Tokyo. Size Height: 23 cm Width: 18.5 cm Depth: 4.5 cm (total stack of 5 issues) Weight 1409 g Condition All five issues are in generally good used condition consistent with age, with tanning to the pages and some wear to the covers; no missing pages or significant damage noted.
