Indonesian Kris / Keris Dagger with Wooden Scabbard – Patterned Blade – approx. 50 cm – 19th Century
A decorative and characterful Kris (Keris) dagger with scabbard and a total length of approximately 50 cm. This type of dagger traditionally originates from Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia, where it has long been used both as a weapon and as a ceremonial or symbolic object.
The blade shows a visible patterned surface reminiscent of traditional pamor or pattern-welded steel often associated with Kris blades. The dark wooden hilt is elegantly shaped with subtle carved details that give the piece a balanced and traditional appearance.
The dagger comes with a wooden scabbard featuring the characteristic wide upper section typical of Kris sheaths, combined with a longer protective lower part. The warm tone of the wood contrasts nicely with the darker blade and contributes to the decorative character of the piece.
The exact age is not known, but the dagger is likely dating from the 20th century. It remains in good used condition with natural patina and age-related wear consistent with its age.
The wooden hilt shows slight movement on the blade, likely due to age and normal material shrinkage over time, but the piece remains stable and displays well.
An interesting collectible item for collectors of ethnographic weapons, Asian antiques or traditional edged weapons.
