Big Trak is considered one of the most iconic programmable toys ever produced and an important milestone in early educational robotics and Space Age toy design. Description The vehicle features a six-wheel chassis (two-wheel drive), a front-mounted blue “photon beam” lamp, and a top-mounted keypad allowing the user to program and execute up to 16 sequential commands. Commands are entered sequentially and executed by pressing GO, with no visual display—programming feedback is obtained only by observing the vehicle in motion, exactly as originally designed. The programming logic is comparable to early turtle graphics / Logo principles and represents a remarkably advanced educational concept for a mass-market toy released in 1979.
