The exterior is finished with a deep, glossy black glaze, creating a strong and elegant presence. In contrast, the interior is richly decorated with applied gold leaf, producing a luxurious visual effect as the surface reflects light. The subtle crackle-like pattern and variations in the gold leaf surface give the bowl a refined sense of depth and character. Kiyomizu ware from Kyoto is renowned for its refined craftsmanship and artistic expression, and pieces like this demonstrate the careful balance between traditional aesthetics and decorative elegance.
