ABOUT THE ARTIST Sofia Silva is an Argentinian artist and photographer. Her projects *Spreading Out* and *Packaged Selves* explore themes related to consumerism and its effects on the individual and society. Her most recent works, *Último paseo por su Edén* and *Outside – Looking in*, draw on her own photographic archive to examine critical moments in her life and imbue them with new meaning. Her work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows in Argentina, the United States and Spain. Her most notable exhibitions include: Spreading Out, Ricco Maresca Gallery, New York; Corridor, Art Museum of the Americas, Washington DC; Desiertos Antrópicos, VVVgallery, Buenos Aires; Meditations on the Landscape of Desire, C. Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore; Looking Now: BMA Digital Photography Project, Baltimore Museum of Art; Noches Encandiladas, Arte x Arte, Buenos Aires; National Salon of Visual Arts; National Salon of Rosario; Argentine Prize for Visual Arts; National Arts Fund. He was Artist in Residence at Piramidón – Centre d’Art Contemporani in Barcelona, the Center for Photography at Woodstock and the Critic’s Residency Program, Maryland Art Place.
