σαουφις - Απολιθωμένο δόντι - Onchopristis - 7.3 cm
→7.3 cm long Onchopristis Numidus teeth
No doubt in the Upper Cretaceous (approx. 100.5 to 66 million years ago), there were very interesting and enigmatic animals like Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, abelisauridae like Rugops ,Suropods and Pterosaurs and whose teeth and fossils are really amazing to collect.. but amongst those was an amzing fish which deserve a lot of attention and that is Onchopristis Numidus.. one of the reason being that's was an sawfish enormous weighing upto weighed 1.5 tonnes and around 8 meters long. This fish migrated upstream in fresh water form the water becoming prey of the iconic and one and only i.e., Spinosaurus.
The presented fossil is a beautiful and in excellent shape teeth of Onchopristis Numidus teeth and its 7.3 cm long. The teeth has a beautiful natural shine to it and top sharp barb which nicely curves and expands into the root which looks like somesort of flower bud. One side of the tip is cream white-light yellow in color while the rest of teeth is predominantly in beautiful brown color. It is not surprising that Onchopristis teeth are found near or around where Spinosaurus teeth are found. But since Spinosaurus shed its teeth year round so they exist in larger numbers than Onchopristis teeth and secondly due to various fossilization conditions it is tricky to find nicely intact Onchopristis teeth but this teeth clearly stands out as it is elaborated in photos. The fossil looks really nice when it stands naturally on its root with nice curved profile. The underside of fossil is also very interesting revealing the teeth attachment to the long rostral of the Onchopristis.
There is natural crack /fault like in the bottom as well at the top of teeth. We strongly think the teeth is in natural state without any restoration with very slim to marginal chances of crack filling.
Please refer to photos for details of this beautiful fossil. Illustrative photos have been provided of Spinosaurus preying on Oncopristis as well as rostral bone with teeth arranged on it.
