Susanoo no Mikoto 素戔嗚男命
He's also believed to be the god of storms and the god of exorcism. Although he was banished from the heavenly realm for his wild and violent behavior, he also has a strong sense of justice and wisdom, as evidenced by his success in defeating the Yamata-no-orochi, and can be said to be a multifaceted god. Because of this heroic aspect, he is sometimes worshipped as the god of war.

Carved by Fujii Yoshiro, this Bicchu Kagura wooden mask portrays Susanoo no Mikoto, the storm‑god whose nature fuses ferocity, justice, and heroic resolve. The sharply angled brows, forceful gaze, and tightly drawn mouth express the volatile temperament for which Susanoo is known, while the bristling moustache and beard add a raw, elemental presence.
